This well-preserved stagecoach is from the western U.S. and is found in a plexiglas shelter adjacent to the Steamboat Springs Visitor Center. The route to Steamboat Springs ran from 1890 to 1908. There is a historic plaque that explains the use of the coach, the routes of the stage coach line and rules for passengers for use of the coach. The coach carried passengers, freight and mail. It could hold 15 passengers, but that meant some were riding atop the carriage or clinging on the sides.
