A three bay side hallway plan, the Dr. J. T. Updegraff House (400 Union St.) was built ca. 1846 in the Greek Revival vernacular style. The house has Flemish bond brickwork and six over six windows on the second floor. Dr. Updegraff (1822-1882), a Quaker abolitionist, was a field surgeon during the Civil War and later served in the United States Congress and Ohio Senate.

- Historic District Nomination

The house appears to be in very good condition and continues to serve as a private residence.
