The Cloef is a rocky viewpoint in the apex of the Saar loop at Mettlach Orscholz district.
The views Cloef offers the best view of the Saar loop, the symbol of the Saarland, at the foot of Orscholz. Into the limelight she puts each by visiting heads of state and politicians. Frederick William IV, King of Prussia visited the views Cloef overlooking the Saar loop at 29 September 1856. The Prime Minister of Saarland, Oskar Lafontaine and the later German Chancellor Gerhard Schröder could be on 4 August 1997 photographed against the backdrop of the Saar loop. French President Jacques Chirac and the Polish president Lech Kaczynski met down at the Saar loop for triple summit with German Chancellor Angela Merkel on 5 December 2006.
