This bust sits atop a stone pedestal about five feet high. The lifesized bronze work depicts Gaytan as a middle-aged woman with short hair and a determined appearance. The viewer gets a glimpse of an open collar blouse with a jacket.

The plaque does indicate that it was unveiled January 7, 2013 and refers to Gaytan as the strong advocate for gender equality.

"She was appointed on 1 February by the President of Mexico and President of the National Women's Institute (Inmujeres). In her distinguished career, she has been deputy in the Congress of Jalisco which prompted the creation of the Commission on Gender Equality and the law against gender violence. Was also federal deputy in the 57th Legislature of the Congress and from 2002 she served as President of the Jalisco Institute for Women."
