In many small towns "The Legion" is often the social centre of the community, and such appears to be the case in Slocan City. The Legion has a lounge which is open only on weekends (Saturday 6 to 10 PM & Sunday 1 to 6 PM). Through the week it hosts Texas Holdem nights, breakfasts, barbecues and dances on an irregular basis and they recently installed a pool table in the lounge.
Both the lounge and the building, with grounds, are available for private functions.
Given its style and the history of the city, the building itself was likely build between 1900 and 1910.
The building is also home to the Slocan Valley Women's Institute.
