This beautifully done red granite memorial was placed near Main Street in Slocan City's city park and mounted on a concrete base.

Also containing a plaque commemorating the Korean War, this Memorial has inscribed upon it two of Slocan City's men who lost their lives in The Great War, James R. Armstrong & Thos. Holt.

Below, near the bottom is inscribed the quotation:
"To you from falling hands we throw
the torch, be yours to hold it high."

At the top, above a flourish, is inscribed:
