Carlsber Visitors Centre, located where Carlsberg was founded back in 1847 by local brewer J.C. Jacobsen, includes a self-guided tour through the historic brewery. The old brewhouse, the bottle collection and the stables are part of this tour.
Carlsberg has always been associated with horses. In 1928 Carlsberg had more than 200 Jutland horses, commonly known as 'brewery horses'. The number of horses reduced over the years, but the World War 2 forced a return to horsepower, due to the shortage of petrol.
Nowadays, Carlsberg’s horses are only at special events, like festivals or fairs, and in on special occasions for customers, and as a subject for the world’s photographers.
In the stable an exhibition can be found, including three or four of the wagons used by Carlsberg.
