This stone marker is on the north east side of the High Street and a few paces south east of where the bridge crosses the River Stour. It tells of the bridge widening and also gives the distance to London Bridge.

The bridge is a Grade II* listed building with the entry at the English Heritage website telling us:
Built on Mediaeval foundations. 2 spans stone with stone voussoirs and a stone parapet on one side. Dated 1734 under the parapet. A stone records that the bridge was widened 10 ft in the year 1769.
