Little Flock derived its name from the Little Flock Baptist Church (est. 1843) across the street, which derived its name from a Bible verse:
"Fear not, little flock, for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom."
Luke 12:32 (ESV)
This little park next to the town offices has just a few amenities. Besides the facilities listed below, it has a lot of grassy area. However, walking over the grassy area feels like walking on golf balls in cement. The ground is very rocky with a thin layer of grass over it. Not a good idea to want to roll around in it! Its best features are two separate picnic pavilions, one raised above ground a few feet. It looks like a good place to hold a group picnic, with a nice playground for the young ones to keep from getting bored and wandering off.
The park is located where the old Little Flock (one-room) School was located, before consolidations and the school's removal many years ago.
