Located on the University of Nevada, Reno campus is the Harry Reid Engineering Laboratory. This building's website claims this superlative status (in bold) and reads:

Named in honor of United States Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, the Harry Reid Engineering Lab Center is home to the James E. Rogers and Louis Wiener Jr. Large-Scale Structures Lab, Center for Civil Engineering Earthquake Research, U.S. Super Pave Center, as well as hydraulics, asphalt, optical fiber, microwave and robotics labs. It features the largest earthquake shake tables in the nation, and has conducted studies for the new San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge project. ~source

The laboratory was built in 1992 based off an online article I read here and and further confirms its superlative status (in bold) and reads:

Harry Reid announces more than $12 million to expand earthquake research at UNR

September 29, 2010 WASHINGTON, D.C. – Sen. Harry Reid today announced the University of Nevada, Reno will receive $12.2 million from the Commerce Department’s National Institute of Standards and Technology to fund the expansion of the Center for Civil Engineering earthquake research facilities. The laboratory expansion project will make UNR’s earthquake research facility the largest and most versatile earthquake simulation facility in the nation.

“UNR’s earthquake research center is among the best in the nation, providing real-time data that is vital to maintaining safe roadways, bridges and buildings that can endure Nevada’s frequent seismic activity,” said Reid. “Thanks to this funding, UNR will have the facility and resources needed to build on the quality work they already perform and help keep Nevadans safe.”

The Center for Civil Engineering Earthquake Research facilities at UNR were formally established in 1984 and expanded in 1992 to include the Harry Reid Engineering Laboratory. Since its creation, the center has become well known for its work in increasing seismic safety, specifically in the area of highway bridges.
