In fact, I found these millstones and took a picture of it long time before I had the idea to waymark them. Altenwerder is a special location in Hamburg since all the houses and their inhabitants vanished, all you see now are thousands of containers and industry. Only a small green field, former gardens, the church and the small cemetary survived so far. I found the millstones lonely in the grass. There is no mill nearby, there has never been a mill (at least not in the past 300 years; the locals were fishermen, not millers!), and I even spoke with the retired pastor of the Lutheran church: He had no idea where these millstones come from and who placed them near the church onto public, abandoned land ... I decided to waymark them anyway since Altenwerder is a place with an atmosphere of its own. It's like a special lost place. One can discover unexpected things here - even old millstones. If you can dig out more information on them, share this with the community in your log entry please!
