What makes this a nice train watching spot is that waiting for a train to pass by can be as enjoyable as when a train
does pass by. The coordinates will take you to a parking lot by the falls. There is a a
Provincial Recreation Area nearby for picnicking or snoozing, camping or tossing horse shoes. Yes, one may camp right next to a very active rail line. If one so chooses, one may drop a line into one of the area's premier trout fishing rivers above or below the falls and hope for a nibble before the next train, or just sit and gaze endlessly at the waterfall.
Just upriver from the falls is a railroad bridge which carries the CPR southern mainline. It's a busy mainline, with many seriously long trains passing in both directions on weekdays.
For an even closer view, cross the river on the road bridge at the falls and park by the railroad crossing on the road headed south immediately east of it.
