Historie
Puvodní obec byla založena v 11. nebo 12 století v blízkosti tehdejšího "Schaflerhofu", u zdroje vody.
Bratelsbrunn, r.1249 jmenován poprvé jako soucást majetku kounického kláštera. Jméno Bratelsbrunn, pravdepodobne složeno ze slov Bratio a brunn (studna).
Starý Bratelsbrunn byl spustošen a znicen válkami a krome jediné osady srovnán se zemí.
Z 24.dubna 1576 pochází "Vyhlášení" hrabe Thurna o nabídce ke stehování do Bratelsbrunnu. Je to nejstarší listina obce,rodný list nového
Bratelsbrunnu.
První osídlenci byli Nemci.
Nejvyšší pocet obyvatel - 1927, žil v obci v roce 1910.
V obci se vyucovalo asi od roku 1696.
Soucasná budova radnice sloužila jako zájezdný hostinec.
První kostel byl v obci od roku 1696, dnešní kostel sv. Jana Krtitele, stavený v románském slohu bez ozdob, byl vysvecen r.1860 a je památkove chránen,stejne jako fara s bránou a hospodárským stavením.
Památkovou ochranu požívají rovnež socha sv.Floriana u hasicské zbrojnice a socha sv. Jana Nepomuckého u fary.
Ve státním seznamu nemovitých kulturních památek je rovnež zapsána kaplicka u silnice do Mikulova.
V kostele se nachází lustr pravdepodobne z roku 1860. Jde o zrejme nejvetší lustr svého druhu v celé republice. Má na výšku 4 m, prumer dolního kruhu je 2m. Nachází se na nem celkem 13.684 sklenených krištálových ovesku.
V r.1880 byla v obci zrízena železnicní zastávka.
Z historických událostí stojí za zmínku prujezd kanclére Otto Bismarka obcí v roce 1866.
27.ríjna 1938 projíždel obcí Adolf Hitler.
Obec byla v minulosti známá predevším knoflikárstvím, šitím rukavic a výrobou sítek na vlasy.
Vždy zde byli znamenití vinari. Cile se obchodovalo s Vídní,a to predevším s okurkami, ovocem, zeleninou, fazolovými lusky.

The original village was founded in the 11th or 12th century in the vicinity of the former " Schaflerhofu " for water resources .

The first church was in the village since 1696 , today's church. John the Baptist, built in the Romanesque style unadorned, was consecrated in 1860 and is a listed building, as well as the rectory gate and outbuildings .
Monument protection shall likewise sv.Floriana statue at the fire station and a statue of St. . John of Nepomuk at the rectory.
The national list of intangible cultural heritage is also written chapel on the road to Mikulov .
