In 2012, Cobble Hill's post office celebrated 125 years of operation. It first opened on October 1, 1887 in an old boxcar pulled across the road from the nearby railway tracks. In 1915, it moved out of the boxcar and into a new building at the corner of Cobble Hill Road and Fisher Road. It remained in that location until 1950, when the current building was constructed.
The original boxcar post office served about 11 families in 1887. The current post office now serves over 6000 residents.
