One of the projects of the Eureka Redevelopment Agency was the improvement of the Eureka waterfront with a public waterfront boardwalk in 2002. One of the features along the boardwalk is a compass rose at the foot of “F” Street. At the center of the compass rose is a disk with the City of Eureka’s logo.

Online photos (visit link) show that the compass rose was originally totally inlayed, but now only the outer blue ring is.
