The historic Odd Fellows Hall (also known as the French Empire Mansard Building) was constructed by James Simpson, a well known builder, in 1883 to house the new lodge hall for the Independent Order of Odd Fellows. The large two story Second Empire style building was constructed of brick with an imposing two story entrance pavilion bordered by specially formed iron columns. The building is 110 feet in length by 40 feet wide with a spread brick foundation. The structural system is unreinforced brick bearing walls, with one interior brick cross wall. Modification of the first floor were made in 1920 when new windows were cut into the walls of F Street south of the main entrance, and the entrance on Second Street was moved from the middle to the corner of the building.
The building was placed on the National Register of Historic Places on May 3, 1978. It is also a contributing structure in the Eureka Historic District which was placed on the National Register on October 15, 1991.
