These strange formations of hard limestone over soft sandstone weather to form "mushrooms" -- and sometimes the erosion forms a natural arch.
One such arch can be seen along the I-94 as you head west from Forsyth MT.
BE CAUTIOUS getting out of your car here -- I will accept a drive-by photograph because of the narrow shoulder on the westbound I-94. A better parking area exists as you come east on the I-94.
