The Little bridge is a 19th century stone arch bridge. The map of Grafton in 1831 shows that there were 2 bridges side by side over the Quinsigamond River. The low road bridge lead to Worcester St, whereas the high bridge carried traffic into the Grafton village. This was an unusual and unnecessary duplication of bridges and too expensive for a town to build, it is assumed the early mill owners built the little bridge first (this waymark) and the New England Manufacturing co built the other one.
