The Fourth Avenue Baptist Church began in 1898 in Moreland's Hall (now known as Fifth Avenue Court) to serve the Glebe community. On April 20, 1899 the new church was formally recognized by the Baptist Association. The corner stone for the present church building was laid August 3, 1904 by Gordon Edwards, and the dedication service was held on April 2, 1905.
Fourth Avenue Baptist Church has had an invigorating and blessed history. To God be the glory, great things He hath done, and continues to do here at the corner of Bank Street and Fourth Avenue, in Canada’s capital.
