The piece's background is a tear drop shapes with the bas relief in iron.
From top to bottom:
On top is a flying eagle, which is followed by people which look like pioneers. There are men, women and a little girl. The piece also has a train engine and a Pony Express rider on horseback. At the bottom is a wagon wheel.
