"The Shiloh Baptist Church was built beginning in 1958 and completed in 1963. The church, designed by James C. Dodd, FAIA, is an early example of mid-century modern architecture in Sacramento, incorporating a clear yet dramatic geometric form, up-angled roof lines that are reflected in the entryway and sanctuary spaces, horizontal bands of glass, an open interior, and minimal adornment inside and out. The asymmetrical placement of the building on the site emphasizes the geometry of the building and enhances the drama of the angled roof lines." (visit link)
