from their website:
The Earl of Sussex has been operating in this location since 1980 and provides a warm relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff, classic pub food and the sunniest patio in the ByWard Market.
The Earl of Sussex serves pub classics like fish and chips, bangers and mash and Shepherd’s pie along with local favourites like 7oz burger and fries, jumbo chicken wings and BBQ pizza.
from the National Capital Commission:
Sussex Drive Facade: Ottawa's early history centred largely on this busy thoroughfare of stores and tavern hotels, the latter well frequented by raftsmen, shantymen and townsfolk. Along four blocks between George and St. Patrick Streets is an interesting series of stone buildings dating from 1827 to the 1870s. In 1961 the National Capital Commission undertook to preserve a street facade now known as the "Mile of History". It reflects many of the qualities prevailing at the time of Confederation in 1867.
