The historic 1909 Federal Building at 514 H Street in Eureka, California.
The building is a three story brick faced structure resting on a full raised basement. Construction of the building began in late July 1909 and the cornerstone was set on December 24, 1909 at the northeast corner of the building. The building was occupied in January 1911. The ground floor was occupied by the Post Office, the second floor was a large courtroom, and the third floor was for office space for Federal agencies. In 1937 five murals were hung in the courtroom as part of a New Deal program. After over 100 years the use of the three floors remain the same with only changes in some of the agencies using the building.
