This 60 year old neon sign was the first neon sign granted official Tyler Landmark status by the city's Preservation office. The honor was granted shortly after the restaurant won Best Pork Ribs from Texas Monthly in 2010.
The building occupies an oddly-shaped lot at 525 Beckham Street, on a curve. The neon sign burns even during the day, so you can't miss it. Another clue is the line of customers out the door.
Should you seek out this sign and NOT stay for the meat, you must be an extremely committed vegetarian. For you -- Blasterz recommend the wonderful peppery pinto beans and meat-free breakfast tacos. But should your vegetarian commitment waver in the face of the wonderful smell of slow-roasted pit barbecue, you would not be the first! :)
