On the west side, the names if the dead of WWI are inscribed under "Our Glorious Dead"
On the north side, the names of the WWII dead and dates 1939-1945 are inscribed.
On the east side is a list of battles in WWI the Gainsborough military me fought in.
On the south side is the dedication "This memorial was erected by the people of Gainsboro to honor the men who fell in the World War 1914-1918"

Description of Memorial:
the memorial is a cenotaph of grey granite on a square pedestal. The the names of the dead military members from Gainsborough are inscribed - those from WWI on one side, those from WWII on the opposite side.
