Nowra is the major commercial centre of the City of Shoalhaven & in recognition of this the Nowra Fire Station moved to full time staffing in June 2012. At that time there were 10 full-time firefighters. These are supported by retained (volunteer) staff.
The Nowra Fire Station is responsible for fire & rescue services, containing hazardous materials, support to the Rural Fire Service during major bush fires, fire investigation, building fire safety & community education.
