This is the home of Boyer Mountain Lodge # 134, an amalgamation of the former Deer Park Lodge #134, and Chewelah Lodge #135. The amalgamation came about for economic reasons, in order to save both lodges. Their recently purchased lodge building looks very much like a church because it once was. The two original lodges would both have celebrated their 110th birthdays in 2014.
In 1904, the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Washington granted a charter to each of Deer Park Lodge #134, and Chewelah Lodge #135 located in the respective towns they were named for. These were sponsored by Colville Lodge #50, and had operated under "dispensation", or by permission of the Grand Lodge for the previous year. The new lodge officers were duly installed, and each of the lodges opened under the new Charters and By-Laws. They have been very active and successful for the past 107 years, serving the members and communities in the surrounding areas, 26 miles nearby to each other. In 2004, both lodges were rededicated in ceremonies by the MW Grand Lodge of Washington. In this time, each lodge had rented space for their Stated Meetings, in each location, moving only a very few times within the cities.

Since 2010, each lodge faced difficult issues related to their meeting locations, resulting eventually to lead Chewelah Lodge to meet in the Deer Park Lodge hall, still a rented space. With much discussion and careful consideration by the officers and members of both lodges, an eventual conclusion came to decide to consolidate the lodges into one. This combines the considerable strengths of both lodges, ensuring a bright future for Masonry in the Chewelah -- Deer Park area of Eastern Washington.

The new lodge name is Boyer Mountain Lodge #134, named for a prominent peak that is halfway between Chewelah and Deer Park, in Eastern Washington.

One of the first actions of the consolidated lodge has been the purchase and remodel of an existing building in Deer Park for the lodge hall, previously housing a church congregation. Please visit us, Mason or Visitor, to learn more and share in our Great Future!
