The village of New Denver recently built them selves a spiffy new town office and council chambers on Slocan Avenue.

Just one block from Slocan Lake, this is a nice little town office, and even has the fire hall attached, affording safety and security, conflagration wise. The town has less than 600 residents at last count, so they don't need a huge town hall, but in the summer they do have a lot of tourists passing through, all with a silly question or two to ask.
The office is open from 8 AM to 4 PM, Monday to Friday. Naturally, we passed through on a Saturday, so were unable to ask any silly questions.
Situated in the beautiful Slocan Valley, about 2/3 of the way up Slocan Lake, New Denver and area are becoming both a tourist destination and a retirement area for those looking for an easy, laid back small community lifestyle.
