Kavarna Slavia - Prague, Czech Republic - Historic Eats on Waymarking.com

Kavarna Slavia is located near the Vltava River, on the corner, bottom of Narodni Trida. It was founded in August 1886, at the same time as the National Theater, across the street. And this is no coincidence. It was intended so. The idea was to provide a good quality cafe to the people coming to the theater.

It was visited frequently by many important personalities of the Czech society, science and culture. Vaclav Havel, the first president of Czechoslovakia after the fall of the Communist was an usual customer and he lived not far from the place.

In the evening there is live piano music (17:00-23:00). There is a good selection of drinks and food, specially recommended is the Slavia's steak.
