The station house is a relatively new concrete block building with three overhead doors, built beside the old fire house, which was administered by Stevens County, not the City of Colville. The department, except for the fire chief, is manned entirely by volunteers. In addition to his normal duties, the Fire Chief assists the Building Inspector in providing fire safety inspections for local businesses and assists the Water Department in the selection of fire hydrant locations.
To the side of the fire house a bell is mounted for display. It was likely the bell from Colville's original fire house.
The city has an emergency siren, but it is at city hall, one block south and west, not at the fire hall.
