Camping along the first 7.5 miles of the Eagle Creek Trail is allowed only in four designated camp areas, where competition for weekend space is keen. High Bridge (at 3.3 miles) is one of only two places where the trail crosses Eagle Creek. It also marks the border where camping is allowed (in designated places). At Seven and a Half Mile Camp there are a couple campsites near the trail, then there are a number of side trails going a short distance to campsites near Eagle Creek. This is a great spot to camp after hiking the first seven and a half miles to get here. The altitude gain as you continue on to Wahtum Lake comes much faster.
Number of tent spaces: Four or more
Access to Campsite: foot
Special Features: Eagle Creek is one of the most spectacular hikes in the Gorge. This camp is both scenic and strategic if you're hiking the whole loop.
