A Travelling Balazs is located in a small public square in front of 918 West Sprague Avenue, about two blocks south and less than one block west of its original location.
This impressive, yet inscrutable abstract, by prolific local artist
Harold Balazs, was done in copper, now well aged to a nice patina. It rests atop a hexagonal two tiered exposed aggregate pier completely surrounded by wood and steel benches. The sculpture's dimensions are listed as being 96 x 96 x 96 in.
Balazs has formed many partnerships with architects and other artists over the years in order to produce his works. Extremely well known in the Spokane area, many of his works are in public areas in Spokane, such as the
Riverfront Park Rotary Fountain, at the entrance to Riverfront Park. The
Northwest Museum of Arts and Culture in Spokane owns at least thirty of his works.
