Built around 1859, this former County Clerk's office was moved from the southeast corner of the courthouse square. It was located at it's current site at some point after 1900 and is believed to have been moved at least twice. For 25 years, all of the county's daily business for the County Clerk and Sheriff were conducted in this building. The house has been owned by the county and maintained by the Southern Oregon Historical Society. It is considered a historic contributing structure in the Jacksonville National Historic District.
