This is L91, the
Big Mama of the station's fleet - the ladder truck. It was built by the
Sutphen Corporation, of Columbus, Ohio, who have been building fire fighting equipment since 1890. This makes them the
oldest continuously owned and operated fire apparatus manufacturer in the country. This unit is a big tandem axle job.
Luckily, when we visited Station 91, they were just rolling out a couple of the trucks to service them, and invited us in to view the fleet. We didn't have to be asked twice.
