This pumper is one of a fleet of four trucks at Station Number 91 of Spokane County Fire District 9, on West Hastings Road in the Community of Mead, just north of the northern edge of Spokane.

This is E91, the first of two Pierce Pumpers at the station. Built by Pierce Manufacturing, of Appleton, WI. Unlike many manufacturers of fire fighting vehicles who do conversions on existing chassis, Pierce builds the truck from the ground up. One of the longer lived companies in the field, they celebrated their 100th anniversary in 2013.

Luckily, when we visited Station 91, they were just rolling out a couple of the trucks to service them, and invited us in to view the fleet. We didn't have to be asked twice.
