The water tower is currently in use as a height container for drinking water within the structure of Nordborg Waterworks:
"Sønderborg Supply delivers annually 2.6 million m³ of clean drinking water to consumers in Augustenburg Gråsten, Nordborg and Sønderborg.
It is approx. 50% of all municipal residents who receive water from Sønderborg supply. We have 6 waterworks and 3 height containers. The length of the supply pipeline is approx. 360 km." (Source: sonfor.dk).
