This quail aviary is small penned off area near the Hamilton Children's Garden at the San Diego Botanical Gardens...formerly known as Quail Gardens.
There is a lot of brush and quails like to hide in the undergrowth...so, the poster of this Waymark did not actually see any on the day of his visit.
A sign at the site informs us that the quail is California's state birs and that they prefer to walk or run than fly. It also indicates that quail were once common in the area but now prefer more rural areas.
