A few pits can still be found at the site. They are all fenced off and some still have fake animals strategically placed around the area. The tar pits usually have water covering them so they look like ponds. A few gas bubbles sometimes break the surface.
The Page Museum provides a wonderful look at fossils found in the pits and one of the ongoing digs can be observed. There is no fee to walk around the pits, but the museum has an entrance fee. Parking is all around the block (if your lucky) or in a paid parking lot.
