YHA Te Anau offers excellent and reasonable priced accommodations and services in what is generally an expensive little town to stay in as you enjoy your Fiordland holiday and excursions to Fiordland National Park.

The hostel is located on a main street just one block from Lake Te Anau and a few blocks from the main shopping and restaurant scene. It's about a 10 minute walk to the supermarket for groceries to cook in the hostel's excellent kitchen. There is a large barbeque to grill your meat and veggies if you so choose. Eating inside or outside are both options.

The one thing that our family didn't like too much is the shared bathroom (one the main level) is extremely small and would get really soaked because some uncaring residents would splash water from the shower onto the floor or all over the counter of the sink basin.
