Though six were planned, only two of the Benewah Milk Bottle buildings were ever built, at a cost of $4,000 each in 1935. The Spokane Chronicle ran an article on the buildings on their 50th anniversary, on June 26, 1985, on page B1.

In 2011 the Garland Avenue building was badly damaged by fire, but was rebuilt and reopened as a restaurant, Mary Lou's Milk Bottle. The South Cedar building is today offices for Mr. Chimney & Masonry, a chimney and masonry service and installation company.

Though there are two Milk Bottle Buildings referred to in the article, coordinates given are for the one pictured in the article, at Post Street and Garland Avenue.
