Located just off Lakeshore Drive is a newer trail named Ridge View Trail. This trail connects with other trails that meander eastward towards Moore Park. There are two volunteer organizations of enthusiasts who have spent considerable time and effort the past five-to-seven years creating, grooming and maintaining these trails for the general public to enjoy. They are the Friends of Moore Park and Klamath Trails Alliance.
It doesn't matter what time of year it is in the Klamath Basin, Ridge View Trail, along with other trails in the area, are accessible for walking, hiking, mountain biking and cross country skiing. All of the trails here do not allow any motorized vehicles of any type nor horseback riding.
If you're capable of hiking some steep but well-groomed terrain, you will be welcomed to some spectacular views of Klamath Lake along Ridge View Trail. The only caveat that currently exists along this trail is construction of a new housing development called 'Buck Ridge Estates' that comprises many real estate lots for sale and this trail cuts right through the middle of this development. I've spoken with the foreman regarding the future status of this trail and he related that the crews will do everything they can to ensure that the trail continues to exist and be a part of this development in some way, shape and form.
