The title "Marshal of France" is a honorary title given to victorious generals of the French army. During the Second World War only four men deserved such honor: Philippe Leclerc Hautecloque, Alphonse Juin and Jean de Lattre de Tassigny in 1952 and Pierre Koenig in 1984.

These are their statues, 3.50 meters tall, made by Charles Correia. They form a square, dressed in uniform, standing on a stone platform with their names carved, near the esplanade of Verdun Beauvais.
