Wyalong was established as a gold mining town in 1894, and at its peak had more than 10,000 miners. Today it is a quiet town with historic buildings a few kilometres east of its bigger 'sister' West Wyalong.
The post office appears to have been constructed from two demountable units, but has been there for quite a few years. Note the quirky fact that the post office closes for lunch.
