Avenel Maze is located close to the creek where a teenage boy named Ned Kelly rescued seven-year-old Richard Shelton. Ned would later become Australia's most infamous bushranger and his gang roamed the hills of the nearby Strathbogie Ranges. The theme of the maze is therefore designed around story of Ned and the Kelly Gang.
Also at the maze is a mini golf course, rock labyrinth, Ned’s Knot Maze and BBQ facilities.
The entry fee covers all mazes and games, including Royal Avenel, the mini golf circuit. It also covers the cost of the use of the BBQ.
