Carr Lane Church near Carr Lane, MO - Country Churches on Waymarking.com

As usual, an extensive web search was done for both this church and former one-room school, but the only reference found was in the 1940-41 Stone County School Directory when you click on Pages 16 & 17. The topographic maps still show this school building where it stands. The only way that it could be determined that the school was later used as a church is from the sign along the road that has been allowed to fall down. It appears that the building is still being used for something, since:

1. It has a nicely painted propane tank, which would have been removed if the building was no longer used.
2. It has an electric meter on the utility pole, which also would have been removed.
3. It is kept in good condition and has an air conditioner in one window.
4. There is a sign indicating that voting was, at one time, done here, probably not too long ago. (Perhaps recently.)
