Not much can be gleaned about this former school from a web search, even from rootsweb, which only offers
a 1909 plat map which shows the school in section 24.
I was fortunate when I visited on a Tuesday, the last day of 2013, that there was a middle-aged lady working at the food pantry, held in the old school, whose mother had attended the school, and who had lived in the area all of her life. She described how the school was used, after abandonment from consolidation, as the first building for the Lighthouse Pentecostal Church. Then when the church built its newer, much larger current building, the old school building was used for various things. The latest incarnation is that of a food pantry run by the church for folks who need assistance.
