Phase 2 of the Capital Regional District's (CRD) headquarters was completed in April 2006. This portion of the building was registered for LEED certification on April 15, 2005 and received LEED Gold certification on September 14, 2007 under the LEED Canada for New Construction and Major Renovations rating system. Some of the sustainable features of the building include a rainwater harvesting and re-use system, extensive green roofs and a living wall.
