UPDATE DECEMBER 2019: It has been reported that this museum has moved to Bricktown Ballpark.

The Jim Thorpe Museum & Oklahoma Sports Hall of Fame highlights sports figures who are/were Oklahoma residents. This includes baseball, football, and other sports like Shannon Miller's contribution to gymnastics. The museum honors Jim Thorpe, a native American Oklahoman who excelled in athletics all-around, and won gold medals at the 1912 Winter Olympics in the Pentathlon and Decathlon.

The Oklahoma Sports HOF presents several athletic awards each year. The Jim Thorpe award, awarded in February since 1986 honors the "Best Defensive Back in College Football". The Warren Spahn award, presented each January since 1999, honors the best left-handed pitcher in major league baseball. Inductees to the Oklahoma Sports Hall of Fame are inducted each August.

The museum displays jerseys and photos and other memorabilia of famous athletes, with interesting biographies to enjoy. The museum has a gift shop, meeting space, and offers a self-guided tour. It is suitable for children 12 through adult.
