Located within Mt. Laki Cemetery and near a headstone that reads 'Mt. Laki Cemetery - 1909 - 1990' close to Cross Rd is the gravemarker of Clara Anna Wheeler. She was born April 2, 1885 and died on January 23, 1989. For a woman who lived to be almost 104 years of age I was a little disheartened to see that only a simple gravemarker notes her presence in life and in death. Clara Anna Wheeler, 104, died Monday, Jan. 23, 1989 in Klamath Falls, OR. She is survived by her daughters, Dorothy Jarrard, Rocky Point, OR and Vivian Lang, Roseburg, OR; sons, George Banta, Gualala, CA and Neil Banta, Klamath Falls, OR; also 5 granddaughters; 10 great-grandchildren. Complete funeral arrangements will be announced by O'Hair's Funeral Chapel.

WHEELER
Funeral services will be held for Clara A. Wheeler on Thursday, Jan. 26, 1989 at 2:00 p.m. in O'Hair's Funeral Chapel. Private interment will follow at the Mt. Laki Cemetery. O'Hair's Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
She is also mentioned in a couple of southern Oregon newspapers from the late 1930s as being a Mrs. Clara Wheeler and having a sister, Mrs. Chas. Levine, who lived in Eureka, CA. I also found a possible connection to Clara Wheeler and Yelm, WA, for which she may have spent some time in.
