Queenscliff Post Office opened on 1st May 1853 as the Shortland Head's Bluff P.O. and was renamed Queenscliff the following year in honour of Queen Victoria
Queenscliff is a former 1880s seaside resort known for its Victorian buildings and is the terminal of the Searoad ferry to Sorrento on the Mornington Peninsula.
